Hi all, short time listener, first time caller…
I had an incident with my sweepy 2.0 for an 80mm spindle and wanted to see if this was common. I’ve had the machine for about 3 months now and used it weekly.
Removing and attaching the bottom Sweepy attachment with the bristles several times may have severed whatever was holding the magnets in place on the left side.
Both magnets on the left side fell out, one got lost in my concrete (I’ll find it a few years from now), and the one I saw drop I attempted to put back inside but it was upside down. Purely human error on that one.
Now the left side of my sweepy is missing 1 magnet and the other one is pushing the magnetic attraction away. I don’t have a tool small enough to dig the magnet out that’s stuck backwards but I’m working on that.
My question/feedback here is around the magnets and sweepy’s dimensions. I’m sure I can replace it with a cheap hobby lobby magnet replacement, but what size/power do I need?
There is a severe lack of dimensional documentation on this accessory and replacement part sizes. I understand there’s a knowledge factor involved when picking up a CNC machine, but parts diagrams save a TON of time.
Any help here on replacement magnets/feedback on how to pick that backwards magnet out? And what to secure the new ones with? I was thinking a few drops of super glue/epoxy would do the trick, but if that’s the original solution, I don’t want this to be a common maintenance factor moving forward.
