I tried to do a simple coaster. Followed the directions added tabs for the final cut. During simulation and milling, the tabs are being put into the first cut, partial cut so I can add a chamfer.
When I check on the final cut, they do not show up on the simulation or on the milling.
I have tried to change the ignore tabs settings, but it is still doing the same thing. I noticed when I was milling that if was putting tabs in on the chamfer layer.
The circle you selected for the contour cutout final did not contain tabs, therefore the contour cutout final cuts the coaster free. If you want tabs remaining after the final cut, you will need to add them to the circle you are selecting for the contour cutout final.
Ahh, Bozo hit the nail on the head. I scratched my head for a moment because the tabs seemed to be there…but they were not on the correct contour it seems.
After hiding and suppressing all other features, I added tabs and verified they show up as expected in the simulation.
Nice catch Bozo coaster-2-tool-tabs.c2d (116 KB)
