Text will not import from illustrator

So I cannot get text to import into create from Adobe illustrator. What am I doing wrong?

Try converting to a path in Illustrator.

As @neilferreri noted, Carbide Create doesn’t support text objects from SVG files — you’ll need to convert the type to paths which will then import as closed geometry.

So I’m an illustrator idiot. How do you do that?
