Tool can't reach BitSetter button

Hello!

I am looking for some help. I have the Shapeoko Pro XXL and after dealing with proximity switches that were not working (Support was really helpful) I have finally got everything up and running.

I went through the startup as directed and I noticed that when I measure a bit on the BitSetter the bit does not reach the button. I have repeated the set up a few times and even after physically putting the bit directly over the button and “Using Current Location” when it goes back to measure it either just barely touches the button or it crashes right next to it. It seems the gantry X-axis does not come forward enough.

I can confirm the machine is squared.

Any help would be super appreciated

Most likely you don’t have the belts tensioned enough — if retensioning doesn’t work, let us know at support@carbide3d.com

I will try that. my one y-axis belt does vibrate a bit when its homing.

I had the same problem when I was completing my CNC. I noticed that there was still a gap of almost 10mm between the endplate and the gantry, but the gantry in software riched the maximal length. (850mm) So I just changed the table’s length in settings and added there 5mm more. Now I can easily reach the bit setter.

I also had this problem, so I told the software my table was 855 instead of 850, and it aligns perfectly in the center of the bit setter. Other than that one issue, my machine assembled easily, works as it is designed to, and is a great addition to my shop.
