I’m still new at this and need some understanding.
When I was creating my project in Carbide create I deleted a number of times the tool paths and recreated them and copied each time to motion. After a number of times when I would run motion no mater what tool path I had enabled it always went to the same one.
My questions:
when deleting a tool path is all the data for that tool path (I assume Gcode) deleted.
after deleting a tool path and create a new one it goes to the next number, if I specify in the new tool path the same number that I deleted is that a problem.
3.In Motion, when the updated file is downloaded is the new data in motion completely replaced.
Is there a way to delete the Gcode or is it necessary to do so, or will this cause problems.
Any help would be appreciated.
When creating tool paths they are in the order in the toolpath menu. You always want to run the least intrusive tool paths first. Always save cut outs to last. When you delete a tool path it is removed from the current session but if you had saved the CC file previously it is not deleted. So if you delete a tool path save the .c2d file and the old tool path is gone. There has been a feature from CC to send to the Shapeoko/Nomad that has worked on and off for some time. I save my .c2d file and use CM to feed it to the Shapeoko. So always save often with the current state to avoid a computer failure, power outage or other unforeseen event. The more complicated a tool path it is a good idea to save it after creating it even if more tool paths will be created. Just remember once saved it is there and only overwriting it with a save changes it.
In the list of tool paths you have groups you can create. You can move a tool path from one group to another or move the order in which they will be executed by moving them so the top most ones are run first. When ever you create an object and save the tool path and then copy the object the tool path is also duplicated for the new tool path. So for instance you create a rectangle, then pocket it and create a tool path when you copy that rectangle the pocket is also duplicated and the copied object is added to the tool path so save save save.
