I am confused … using a #201 (0.25) bit, touch probe on the corner of the stock, X probed, Y probed, then “Rapid Position” > “Current Offset” >
Shapeoko moves to the new offset zero position.
Question, why is the router bit be at the NOT at the corner of the stock?
I would assume that the CM takes into account for touch probe lip.
Am I correct that this offset of the touch probe is seen within the software and not the physical location?

Have to ask - when probing just X & Y, you have it sitting on top of the piece, with no overhang?
Many people miss that it works differently when probing X&Y vs XYZ

Ahhhhh … I fell into that category … Thanks for the link.
Wish Carbide made it to set up the touch probe as in XYZ setup. Makes only sense for an accurate reading. Heck, have both options of setup.

I think the idea was to build in flexibility for if you wanted to set X (or Y) anywhere, or maybe for long tiled pieces where there isn’t a corner. But, I agree, both would be nice.
