Unable to add new tool

Hi,

With the new version Carbide Create Built 813, I’m trying to add a new tool in my tool library.
When I filled all the fields and click Ok, nothing happens. Only a greyed out 0.0 appears at the ‘Included Angle’ field. But I can’t change it or anything. This doesn’t make any sense?

What am I overlooking here? Thanks!

You will need to edit your locale in your Computer OS to use a period (.) as a decimal separator rather than a comma (,).

That’s a very strange ‘solution’ for a European citizen. We use a different number format…

Any other solution? This wasn’t a problem in version 7.

Chalk it up to Yankee Imperialism.

It was a problem in v7, just you never entered a tool which required the “Included Angle” to be 0.0.

Ok… so I really have to force my entire computer to the US measurement system instead of the metric system, for only this one program to run correctly?
That doesn’t sound like a viable option for me, let alone all your other EU based customers?

You can do it in a separate account which is used only for creating such tools, or you can temporarily switch, or you can edit the underlying .csv.

Alright, I’ll consider that a workaround.

But it’s a bit strange to me to ‘Chalk it up to Yankee Imperialism’ as you wrote.

I’ve never has this issue before with any other software, so I figure this can and will be fixed in a future software update?

In any way; thanks for the quick replies.

My apologies, that was too close to politics, and leaned in too heavily on my bizarre (or according to my wife, non-existent) sense of humour and we’ll leave it at that rather than bring the state of the world into things.
