Unable to copy and paste between Create Docs

For some reason, I cannot copy and paste between many Create Docs even though I routinely did in the past. If I create a new document I can sometimes paste previously created drawings but not always. I am using version 778.

Is it possible documents created under different versions are incompatible with the copy-and-paste function? Or a Windows update is causing the issue? Or did I wake up this morning with less brain matter?

Thanks for any support!

If you need to transfer geometry from one file to another, select it, File | Save as SVG, then switch to the other file and import the SVG file.

It is also possible to import an entire .c2d file with toolpaths.

Most of the time I want just part of a drawing to copy without tools paths as I need to redo them anyway making part of the whole drawing. As you know it’s quick a control C open the other doc and control V. I have been able to get it to work by making the copy and closing then opening the new or existing doc. Thanks for your support. It seems I could have several files open before and being able to accomplish.

That was never supported before. The copied data was held inside the Create process, not in the operating system clipboard. This is something we’re looking to change in Create V8.

Rob, It appears I ordinarily did it with one document open at a time which works well vs. trying to do it with multiple docs open which doesn’t work as you mentioned. It would be great if the feature could be added in the future across open docs. Thanks!

It’s definitely on the to-do list.
