Unable to re-update to GRBL v1.1

A couple years ago I updated to GRBL v1.1 with success. Recently I tore down the machine to move it to a new location, and install the HDZ while at it. I figured I would re-update in case the newest updater included some of the newer v1.1 stuff (mine is 2017 something). But after holding the Z limit switch and starting the update, it just sits at the Updating Firmware window and never progresses. I let it run for at least 5min on one go.

I confirmed that Carbide Motion still works fine (was worried I had bricked my controller). Any ideas here?

Maybe I’m missing something, but I’m confused. If you updated GRBL, why are you trying to update it again?

To clarify, GRBL v1.1 is the firmware for the board. If you update Carbide Motion, you should have the latest features.

I was interested in updating again because since upgrading to v1.1, there have been a few minor releases of v1.1 over the months, seen here https://github.com/gnea/grbl/releases. Didn’t know if the Carbide Update included any of those updates.

It could very well be that Carbide Updater has not included any of these newer updates, and I am on the latest that carbide supports. I wanted to check and see.

I’m afraid that we haven’t updated the updater with a new version of Grbl since we first updated to 1.1 — when we do, there should be a big announcement on the blog, and a new carbideupdater app.
