Any suggestions on raising the spindle to access a Sweepy clog mid job???
In my version of carbide motion, I simply touch the pause button. The z rises, I turn the router off, and I clean it out. Not sure if you have a router or spindle. I just have a trim router.
This behaviour depends on which Grbl/machine one has.
SO3/4/Pro do the lift, SO5 Pro does not move vertically, not sure about the HDM — if I understand correctly this is because of the SO5 Pro having dual-motor Y-axis homing — Grbl’s memory constraints required taking something out to fit it.

No vertical mvt. on pause S5Pro. This is a definite need.
I do agree, I use my pause (and z lift) on my Pro all the time, however there is another issue here, why do you find your sweepy is clogging? I’ve never had that issue. It may be time for a bigger shopvac or something?
I have a strong vac. Stringy strands of wood, usually pine.

I have had the same issue. I was able to reduce the string effect with a new bit.

I use deep sweepy . I will pause the run when the spindle retracts and use a pencil to dislodge some of the strings. The vacuum is still on and after a few swishes, the strings start to move and go up the hose.
I will LOVE to see a Pause that retracts the spindle.
Edit: I have a VFD spindle, so if I don’t feel lucky I will use the button to shut off the spindle.

If possible, go cross grain on stringy woods. That will greatly reduce the stringing. But I do know that is not often possible with many operations.
