User defined tool parameters

I’m trying to add a new tool into the tool database, because I needed a tool variant that Carbide don’t sell.

I made a new User Library and added the new bit. The “flute length” and “num flutes” fields were filled out automatically, but there does not seem to be any way that I can alter those fields from those defaults.

I get that those fields are probably just “for information” and don’t provide any information that feeds into the toolpath software, but it would be nice if the stored information could be made correct.

How can I set those values?

You can open CC and in the Help menu click on About. Then you can click on “Open Data Directory”. Open the Carbide Create Folder. Then the Tools Folder. You will find your new library you created. Double Click and the library will open in a spreadsheet application. Edit your tools as you wish and save back in the CSV file format in the location you opened it from.

Here is an fly cutter tool database I got made for reference.
