I am trying to add a URL to the custom tool database (by editing the CSV file), but it does display.
Has anybody had luck with a URL displaying the User Tool Database Display? Does it need an escape sequence?

The custom tool database files do not use every field. I think when C3D created the file format that were trying to future proof their database so they could implement things in the future.

For me once I get the tool dialed in I dont need the url for the bit anyway. Many of the OEM tool makers publish extremely aggressive F&S for their tools likely for an industrial CNC.

So what do you want to do with the url if you could see it?

It’s not possible to add a URL for non-Carbide3D tooling out of security concerns.

I would link to data about speeds and feeds for that particular bit.

You can manually edit the .csv file and add the url. After you get the tool set up you can simply modify the F&S on each use and once you get them dialed in just edit the .csv file. As I stated earlier many of the OEM F&S are fantastically aggressive for many of their tools. So if you want to see the url you will have to open the .csv file in a spreadsheet and copy and paste the url into your browser.
