Using a Wooden circle

I have a wooden circle and I want to carve something in it with my shapeoko cnc. will it work since its doesnt not have 4 sides?

Yes, just create your toolpaths within the circle.

As long as your circular object can lay flat you can carve anything you want into it. If it is not flat or cannot be shimmed to be flat if you have Pro version of CC you could figure out the 3d part and carve in 3d. But if your disk/circle is flat or can be made flat you can carve away. I would use the center of the circle as your origin. You can find the center a couple of ways. The easiest is with a square that has a 45 degree angle on it. You put the 45 against the side of the circle in several places and you can find the center or very close depending on the size of the round object.

Basically you use the same length line in two places inside the circle. Find the center of each line and draw a right angle line from the line to about the center. Repeat for the other line and you have the center. The two lines cannot be parallel to each other. As long as each line is the same length you will find the center of a circle. You could guess but it is not hard using the method above to find the exact center.
