Using Solidworks with Shapeoko 5.1 Pro

I am new to CNC use, but have been using SolidWorks CAD for years. I recently purchased the Shapeoko 5.1 pro and have been successful using the Carbide Create and Motion, and have also been able to export DXF files to Carbide Create to use as I would if created in Carbide Create Basic. I want to move on to using 3D models created in SolidWorks. Do I have to install Carbide Create Pro to recognize the .STL files, or can I use the SolidWorks CAM software, and if so, I believe I have to install a post-processor but do not know what to use or how to install it. I dont mind if I need to pay for Carbide Create Pro, but would rather not if I can use SolidWorks, which I paid thousands for. Any advice on this subject would be appreciated.

If you have SolidCAM, then you just need the right post-processor — Grbl or Linux CNC or Mach 3.
