VFD controller error 17 ground issue

I been running my Shapeoko Pro 5 with the VFD spindle without proper electrical ground with no issues, I decided it will be smart to do so, to keep things simple since in mexico homes do not have proper grounding I just ran a copper wire into a bronze rod straight into the ground, I’m not an expert electrician, but I believe this is the proper way to do it, I added the end into the outlet ground pin, but I get a controller “error 17” any idea on how to do this right or if physical ground needs to be attached elsewhere.

Please contact support — they’ll need photos and may have to request specific ones, sounds like a ground short.
