All the instructions I’ve found have you measure the distance of your prior spindle. If you don’t have a prior spindle how far down should it about be?
The bottom of the collet should be ~3" from the bottom of the mount.
Alternately, jog so that the tip of the tool is in-between two Hybrid T-tracks, chuck up the shortest tool you plan on using, then jog down as low as you can, then adjust the spindle so that the tool is just above the top of the alu. T-tracks.
