I am going to be replacing the router with a spindle on my Shapeoko 3XL. Currently the router and Shapeoko controller are on two separate circuits. Where should the VFD controller be plugged in ?
Thanks for the feedback…

The instructions:
https://carbide3d.com/hub/docs/65mm-er16-spindle/
just say:
Connect the VFD Control Unit to wall power.
so anywhere should be fine so long as the total draw of everything is respected.
My preference is two separate circuits (one for machine/computer, second for spindle/vacuum), but I only use AC spindles — someone who better understands the specifics of VFDs would have to speak to best practices.
I run my 4XL, 65mm spindle, VFD, laptop and shopvac on the same circuit with no issues. I don’t have much choice since there’s only one circuit in my garage. I don’t run anything else while i’m cutting so the current draw is manageable
