Hi All
I’m in the UK and looking at the supplied cable for the 80mm spindle. Do I need to run a seperate supply as it’s 20A or is there a converter of some type ??
Thanks
It can be run from a standard UK plug/socket as it is less than 13A (not 20A).
The specs say 12A and the the unit has a C13 inlet.
This is incorrect, it uses a C14 inlet for use with a C13 lead.
Unlike in North America, in the UK and EU, C13/C14 connectors are only rated for 10A and most will be marked as such. For use and sale in the UK and EU
this unit should have a C20 inlet rated for 15A.
If you choose to get UK 13A plug (BS1363) to C13 lead, make sure it is a good quality one and remember it will need a 13A fuse, not 10A.
In reality, unless you’re pushing the spindle to continous full power you probably won’t have a problem, as I am sure many users in North America can testify. I am just pointing out the official position.
Ok thanks I’ll go with that unless I get a problem then I’ll upgrade
