VFD Spindle Power Control

Noob question:

I’m considering picking up the MC Etcher and understand the spindle needs to be turned off for the drag function to work. How is this accomplished with the VFD spindle, since it’s software controlled? Is the solution to just unplug the spindle? Or does this programmatically happen when selecting the MC Etcher as your tool? Or…?

It should be both software and electronics — the toolpath should set RPMs to 0 and then one can not enable the spindle.

Thanks for the information!

Since I didn’t state that clearly, one should set the electronics so that it is not possible for the spindle to power on.
