Hey everyone I used to run everything off of a desktop, and now I have a laptop and I’ve noticed while working on a project in carbide create, and I have a project cutting the project will stop, but the spindle continues to run, and I and it will lose communication.
This never happened when I had my desktop running befor the switch.
one item to check is the power management settings for the laptop. I use an older Microsoft surface and had to change the from the defaults that allowed ports to be turned off if they were idle. Make sure this is set to disable.

Check the Event log.
Sleep should be turned off as well
