Viewing contents of a file in CC build 629

I just updated both of my laptops to build 629 from build 530. Both on Windows 10. One laptop has build 629 working as it should, the other opens to a blank file (as per image). This is obviously a settings issue of some description. Anyone have an answer?

May not be a setting issue, necessarily. Are both machines on the same version of Win 10?

and have you uninstalled CC completely and reinstalled? Maybe it’s the C++ runtime environment that’s messed up. You might want to try intalling CM (Motion) on that bad machine and then reinstalling CC - I have found that sometimes the CM installation of the runtime modules is cleaner.

The laptop that works correctly is version 19043. The one running wrong is 19042. Both systems were running CC version 530 with no issues.

I tried both of those ideas. No difference. Same blank screen.

I’m kind of at a loss. Perhaps it’s something with the graphics card or opengl version?

Thanks for the input. It’s a mystery to me also. I can even make the drop down menu’s appear. The library loads. But if I select an image from the library, it does not appear in the file! The screen remains blank!

If you haven’t yet, let us know about this at support@carbide3d.com and we’ll do our best to look into it w/ you.

Thanks Will. I just left you guys a voicemail. I’ll send an email also.

which seems the same difficulty

I tried that. Same result. Blank screen.

Maybe the Carbide Create settings file got messed up. It stores the window geometry, so perhaps it’s bad data? Try creating a new settings file:

  1. Exit Carbide Create
  2. Go to CC data directory. For me, it’s C:\Users\doug\AppData\Local\Carbide 3D\Carbide Create
  3. Rename settings.ini settings.ini.backup
  4. Start Carbide Create. It will create a new settings.ini

If that wasn’t the problem you can just delete the new one and rename the backup to the original name.

I installed the latest beta build. Everything works perfectly now. I aint fixin what aint broken!
