Vinyl cutting drag blade attachment

Anyone use a vinyl cutting drag blade attachment on your shapoko?

I’m dong some boat signs and want to try outlining the letters with black vinyl.

I offset the text outward and exported that svg, then into Illustrator to make sure the file retained the scale (thats an issue sometimes going ack and forth)

The file is 20" x 3" and I laid out three to cover my rear and the the local sign - a rama chain wants $100 for three lines!

I even told them they dont need to weed or tape it. Its a tad over 2 sq feet! Holy cow what a markup.

Im seeing them out there for around the same price so this is a much better way to go

thanks in advance

For vinyl you can use the stingray. I have used that for a few projects.

For thicker stuff you may want something like the SST dragknife. I did a video of using that here https://youtu.be/aTrLfJjULBo?si=nPr_7jS2dLOyCCTN

And here for a “mixed media” project

For vinyl the stingray is probably a lot better since the offset from center is very small.

That is what:

is for.

I JUST saw this Cullen and William thanks!

Missed it in the store.

Ridiculous mark-up! I usually charge maybe $0-$3.00 for an order like that. $100 is nuts. Glad you didn’t take them up on their “offer”!

When you are using illustrator, export the file as EPS, send me the file, I’ll cut it for free on my Graphtec plotter. I’ll weed it and tape it for free. Oracal 651 Black, gloss or matte, your choice.
You can pay the postage (I’m in Canada).
