Weird Stepover value for contours

I had noticed this before but didn’t realize that this is likely a bug. When selecting a tool for contours, the step over value displays as a value that is erroneous (at least to me)

The screen shot below show the step over for a 1/16" bit as 3mm – Way too large

The same bit used in a pocket operation looks correct (or at least more reasonable).

This is from the same file I posted in my thread for needing help with aluminum workholding. The V6 file is attached, but I loaded it in V7 and it does the same thing (the screen caps are from V7). It doesn’t cause issues on a contour, but it is curious to me.

Any ideas?

Which machine type are you selecting Feeds and Speeds for/of?

Which version of Carbide Create?

The machine type is the Pro XXL, I observe this in V6, I opened it in V7 thinking it might have been a issue with displaying the value.

Thanks

Okay, I was able to replicate this in v7.

Stepover isn’t used for Contours, so it’s odd that the value is not greyed out, and even odder that this wrong value appears (maybe it’s a default?).
