The flip worked AMAZING. A little finish sanding, add the Mineral Oil, etc., and I’ll call her a HUGE success!!!

Finally slayed my white whale from last year. Got a perfect seem while tiling a large piece of color core. These are large road signs and you can’t see the worse versions, it just feels good to win.
The seem cuts right through the “O”

Note that if one is willing to make the tiling segments a bit shorter and if one is fortunate enough that there are uncut areas fall out along that spacing one can group the toolpaths and turn them one/off selectively to avoid the possibility of a seam.

Sorry for so many posts. I am not very good at this part yet.
Today I spent a Long time sanding. I did the Roundover on the sharp edges and did the grain pop.

Yeah, didn’t work for this though. I’d need to be able to set different sizes for each tile on this logo (The O is smaller than either of the couplets of conjoined letters surrounding it).
I have “tiled” without the pro software before and made some jagged tiles to avoid letters.

More tiles = more tool changes if your
Job uses multiple. That can really start to get old so I make them as large as I can.

I set the depth of the STL to carve a maximum depth of .5"; well, at least that’s what I believe I did… lol.

Nothing like having a family member provide a project challenge.
It cleaned up well post milling.
I’ve tried making stamps/moulds using brass, olive and toolboard. The challenge was removing the tool marks. It surprised me (well, annoyed me) by what artefacts are transferred depending on the material being stamped.

Thanks! Hopefully the clay will be forgiving, we’ll see — if not, I’ll try flame polishing and/or micro-mesh sanding.
