Hello, Im trying to change material, but when I go to Toolpath there is no option to select any. Im up to date on software. Any advice? Thanks
When you select a tool there are various tool databases, alum, plastic, softwood, hardwood. If your material is hardwood then pick the hardwood database. Unless you have selected certain machines all databases show. Ones for the HDM and the Shapeoko are for SO3/4. Pick the ones for your machine type and material type. Those parameters are conservative. So once you start a job you can increase the speed in 10% increments or reduce them. After using a certain and you want to permanently change the F&S then copy that tool and it becomes a custom tool and you can modify it as you want.
Thank you. I guess the video I watched on how to change the simulation model material left out a few steps.
I may have misunderstood your question. In 3d simulation there is limited material choices of which I don’t like any. In regular simulation I usually use aluminum because many of the woods hide the details. In 3d I think there is a list you can choose from. I think cherry is the default.
Only because I didn’t explain my issue very well. I did find it helpful being new and all. I didn’t realize I had to click on Simulation in Toolpath to find the material option. But reverts back to Cherry every change. Would be nice to set a material to a default. If that is an option I haven’t figured it out.
