Used to be you could go to inventables and get a DC spindle and a VFD board. Those products no longer exist. What are Shapeoko peeps doing these days for DC spindles and VFDs? Is there a reputable vendor that sells QCed spindles, or is it all eBay and AliExpress and sketch vendors these days?

Folks who upgraded recently (including myself) and reported here seem to have favored the Ali way and specifically the G-penny brand for spindle, while the Huanyang VFD continues to be popular (if only because there is lots of info gathered by people over time on how to configure it). But if budget is not a concern I’m sure there are “better” local options.
