Workpiece too long for Nomad enclosure

New Nomad3 owner planning to do diamond drag engraving on the first three inches of a 14 inch long stainless steel bar.

Should I prop the lid open or cut a hole in the back panel?

I’d prefer to prop the lid open. What is the best way to bypass the interlock?

If the entries successful I’ll do this operation at least one hundred times.

You can take the back panel out, but lid open is probably the easiest way. Don’t forget about the interlock magnet.

Magnet…

Did you not receive the bypass key?
Open front would be easiest.

Does an ordinary magnet work? I think my cat stole my bypass key.

I would think most magnets will work. Try! The light turns off if it works.

What light turns off?

Thanks Nikolai, I hadn’t noticed that.

I see you added a friction strip to help keep the door shut.

Actually the little red light on my switch does the opposite of yours. It glows when a magnet is attached and turns off when the magnet is withdrawn.

I wonder if that is by design or if one of these behaviors is incorrect?

The first magnet I found is a small rod form. It flips the switch both on end and sideways.

Strange! I wonder how that even works?
Either the switch is flipped on the connector, and the firmware does not care, or we have 2 different versions of the same hardware.
