X and y axis aren't lighting up on the board

hey y’all,

still pretty new to this, don’t have too much time to use the machine, it’s for work, not play.
my crew moved the machine to a different part of the shop. they were gentle, but now the x and y axis aren’t lighting up on the board. i had started to make a new waste board, and the z axis was going about twice as deep as i was asking it to. i gave up on that project to try and do some trouble shooting and figure out what was going wrong- after all, i haven’t used this thing in months so i’m sure it’s user error, usually is, right? zero’d off the the top, bit was tight, same bit, same program i had used before. so, as i’m trouble shooting that- checking belts, homing, v wheels, dust and a little tri flow, my coworker says he wants to check it out- i walked away for 5 minutes and he said the machine went to go home but didn’t stop and the bit bottomed out on the wasteboard. of course, he’s got to go in the field today so i’m trying to trouble shoot this. a bit more puttering around, releveling, rechecking, turning off and on, now the machine won’t initialize and the only light i’m getting on the board is for the z axis but nothing is moving and the x motor is making a pretty awful sound.
any idea what is going on? other steps to try? clarification?
thanks in advance

You measure from corner to corner and correct as necessary. Usually you loosen up the bolts on the end plates and shift the machine and tighten them back up. There are several tutorials on the forum about squaring a Shapeoko.

thank you so much for the help!

we will definitely be keeping a computer dedicated to the machine only!
