I received the Z-plus and proximity switch upgrade for my Shapeoko 3 XL today.
I have an XXL and that has been upgraded to Proximity Switches and an HDZ but at separate times.
My question is should I upgrade both at once or do one and then the other. If you think I should do them one at a time then which one first or should I plow through with both at once. I believe the Z-plus requires the proximity switch upgrade to function but I could be wrong.
I am currently printing the current instructions for both and will review them before starting. Also I will inventory very carefully as I have been burned before by C3D not sending all parts for an upgrade and I will not start the upgrades if all parts are not here.
I don’t think it’s an option to do them separately — the Z-Plus won’t work w/o homing switches and the only mounting option is for the inductive switches, and we don’t include a Z-axis mount for the inductive homing switch on a belt-drive w/ the Z-Plus upgrade.
I got my xl upgraded today. I also have an xxl and everytime I remove the controller cover I have trouble with the BitRunner working. I keep from disconnecting the BitRunner cable I used a nibbler to open the cover hole so I dont have to remove the cable and then spend 30 minutes fiddling with the cable.
