Y axis not stopping when homing

My Y axis will not stop when homing. It appears the black cylinder can out. I don’t know where it goes.Thanks See image.

That screws into the empty hole on the gantry endplate so that it will trigger the Y-axis homing switch.

It screws into this hole. As William mentioned, this is the bit that triggers then homing switch, which would cause the exact problem you reported.
