Y Limit Switch Reinstallation

Hi there - I had to get my Y limit switch replaced, and am having a tremendous amount of difficulty getting the new switch installed, as there are barriers between the switch location and control board. Does anyone have any techniques, or know what specifically to remove, to get this through?

I’ve read about using the old switch’s wire to rethread but unfortunately, I’ve already uninstalled it.

Thanks for the quick reply! I’m using a SP Pro XL. Here are a couple of photos. The new wiring is now stuck in the small hole, and I can’t seem to get it back out, nor do I have enough access to thread it to the control board.

It may be that you will need to remove the plate — please check w/ the folks at support@carbide3d.com to see if that is actually necessary.

Thanks. In case I do, can you point me to any videos or documentation on how to do this correctly?

To remove the end plate it should just be 4 screws, at least that’s how it is on the standard shapeoko 4

Machine is at work but here is a screenshot from shapeoko assembly video you can see the wire passing the to plate and the 4 screws are the only thing holding the plate to the x axis gantry
