Z axis failure S5 pro

Anyone have an issue initializing the machine. It just makes this horrible noise once the Z goes up to initialize? I’ve been sent a new cpu, new wiring harness , checked every nut and bolt. I’ve disabled the bitsetter and the bit zero. Nothing helps. What is left to replace? Any suggestions would be helpful. I’ve had this machine for over a month and have spent 90% of the days waiting on parts and tech support!

Does the Z move?
Is the Z limit switch functioning?

As @neilferreri suggested is the Z homing switch operational. You can check by putting a metal object on it and see if the light turns red and in the CM interface you will see the switch activated. If the switch works then turn off the Shapeoko and manually turn the Z up all the way and turn on, connect but do not initialize. Then see if the switch is activated. If not adjust the switch closer until you see it activated.

The homing cycle starts with the Z moving upwards until the homing switch is activated. If the homing switch is not activated the Z keeps trying to move up and hits the mechanical stop and starts grinding. Then a timer will eventually stop the Z and give you the initialization error. After the Z homes then the X and Y start moving to the right rear and each one homes independently. The X or Y will home at different times depending where the Shapeoko started to move from. Sometimes the X is first and some times the Y is first. When the homing cycle is complete then if the BitSetter is enabled it will come to the front center and prompt for a bit and then the Shapeoko goes over to the BitSetter and the Z plunges twice. Once relatively fast and then again relatively slowly until the BitSetter is triggered. If the BitSetter is disabled the homing will complete and then just sit there waiting for jogging and/or a job to start.
