Z axis plunge rate

I recently purchased a new laptop and downloaded the latest versions of carbide create and carbide motion onto it. Also went into carbide motion and made sure everything was configured correctly. When i start a program to cut, it starts from the top of the z axis travel and plunges at my set rate down to the material. Because i only cut aluminum, my plunge rate is very slow and it takes forever for the bit to make it down to the material. My old computer with old versions of carbide create and motion used to rapid the z axis down to my set retract height and then plunge at my rate which greatly reduced the program time. Is this something that anyone else has encountered lately? If so is there a fix?
