If i manually lift the spindle, it will drop after i let go, springs will stop it, is this too loose?
The tension on the eccentrics (see: https://docs.carbide3d.com/support/tensioning-eccentrics/ ) shouldn’t be enough to hold the carriage in place, and the springs are simply intended to slow the carriage down enough in the event of a power failure that it doesn’t snap off a delicate endmill.
If the wheels are adjusted per the link, and the belts are properly adjusted (see: https://docs.carbide3d.com/assembly/shapeoko/xxl/step-5-belting ) you should be fine.
