Cutting the ‘Myers Waste Board’ as I have done so in the past. I’ve never had a problem like this before. When cutting the center holes, the Z belt slips after about the 25th hole or so and the following holes don’t get cut to full depth. I’ve checked the Z belt tension and all seems well. I have also checked the eccentric nut on the back of the tension wheel. I don’t understand what is wrong.
The belt isn’t slipping…the stepper motor only has 18 pounds of down force (so it’s slipping)…so lower the cutting force…less feed, sharper cutter, more speed, better cutting geometry/tool path, etc…

Also, check the setscrews on the pulley of your Z-axis motor. One of the two setscrews should be on the flat of the motor shaft. The pulley may be slipping on the shaft.
Draw a line like this with a marker,

Run the job that’s giving you that Z trouble, and check whether the line is still aligned afterwards, you’ll know.
