Building a new workbench - Plywood compression strength

Hi guys and gals…

I’m looking to build a new workbench to put my S3 on and also use as a general purpose work bench next to it.

I’m also fitting some storage underneath it.

I was looking to make the sides and main supports out of plywood - 3 layers of 18mm pva’d together then cut holes for the 4 cross beams and slot them in - glue and screw. But I don’t know what or how much flex a plywood side might have?

The sides would be around 60cm tall 80cm wide and the bench over all would be 2x1m I imagine it would need to support around 200kg-300kg. Meaning each side has 150kg put upon it in various places.

Any advice?
