Decoupling Enclosure: Plywood on each side of the 8020 enough?

I read that decoupling your enclosure improves the soundproofing of the enclosure. However at some point, the two panels will have to connect. If I am using an aluminum frame enclosure similar to the 8020 and screw 2 panels on each side, where they are connected to th aluminum frame, but not to each other, is this enough to create a decoupling effect or will the aluminum frame be a conductor to the vibration?

What I’m doing to decouple the CNC from the enclosure is to place the CNC inside the enclosure with a rubber mat similar to what you would put under a treadmill.

You should really decouple twice people will argue different but resonating frequencies and diminishing returns are still a thing. Your rubber mat will decouple it some but then any frequencies that make it through and into the enclosures structure create vibrations between the enclosure and the stand.

Mass is your friend.

For this sort of structure I’d recommend rubber washers in-between the plywood and the metal, and filling the void with a material such as rock wool.
