2d contour circles

Hi,

Im looking for a recommendation for workholding when cutting circles out of solid wood without double sided tape .

Any suggestions?

Thanks Michael

Painters tape and super glue. there are a lot of videos on youtube about this subject as well as on the forum. Works great and keeps your parts from flying off. You could use tabs but then you have to remove them.

Here is one example, there are hundreds of videos.

If you don’t wish to use double-sided tape the usual solution for this is tabs.

In certain materials some folks manage to do this by taking full-depth cut w/o dust collection and letting the chips pack in behind the cut, but I doubt that would work w/ wood.

If your circles have holes in them you can cut the holes first, then put hardware through them to hold the circle in place — that’s my preference, just make a fixture.
