I like the Amana spektra 47818K, 3/16" dia compression, 3/16" shank bit, but I can’t find a 3/16" collet for my Makita.
What should I do? Amana has a 3/16" bit, with a 1/4" shank, but it is not a compression bit.
Thank you.
Wow, they are not cheap! Quality product, I hope?
I couldn’t find any on Amazon, so I guess I will have to dig up my loose change.
I have some of those Elaire collets (imagine the price with shipping and taxes to France…ouch…) and they are top notch.
I can’t imagine! Yikes.
They must be to NASA specs!
I bought a 1/8" from the initial run, and have since bought one of each size — they’re quite nice and complement the Carbide 3D precision collets nicely.
Yes the Elaire collets are good. I bought a set of 1/8 3/16 and 1/4 that was cheaper than buying 2. I do have a Dewalt 611.
I ordered a 3/16" collet from Elaire. But $8.95 for shipping? The thing only weighs a few ounces.
Unfortunately, a small shop doesn’t have the efficiencies of an Amazon. It costs to:
- source a box and packaging
- pay someone to find and pack the product
- pay a shipping company to pick and deliver the product — it’s hard to get good rates if you’re not shipping out multiple truck fulls each day
Question: Can I buy the Amana Collet reducer for the Makita Amana Tool Precision Reducer and this Whiteside reducer Whiteside 1/2 to 1/4
No, you won’t be able to fit a 1/2" straight collet in the Makita
I think elairecorp.com has 3/16 collets. Make sure you find your model.
