3D and contour Q:

I have a waving Canada flag board that i have been successful with but the close step over on my Y axis to clean up around the Maple Leaf in the centre is terribly long. Id like to increase the step over to minimize my time which works out fine everywhere but around the Maple Leaf. ‘Easy’ fix would be to contour around the Maple Leaf at the end.

Will the contour know the height changes? Im assuming it will contour to one designated height. Is there a way to have it contour at the proper waving height?
TIA

Unfortunately, no. They have talked bout a possible 3D contour path. would be a nice addition.

You can either make a thin boundary around the leaf & do a 3D path using that boundary with smaller stepovers, or do a contour at the highest level of the wave around leaf. This would at least clean up the top edge.

You could do a contour to the deepest depth of the wave & make an intentional gap between the wave & leaf?

If you try the small boundary, also try a 3D rough path with 0 Stock to leave. Might be a little better.
