3d carve help and suggestions

Any suggestions on training classes in SC for doing 3d carving. Like taken photos and making 3d carves. Im struggling and getting really irritated with my results. I have tried multiple software but not getting great results.

I think your material is one of your issues. Wide grained softwoods (with knots!) are just about the worst choice for detailed 3D carves.

I think you will have more success with straight grained hardwood. Your local Big Box hadrware store may have things like stair treads in hardwood.

I agree with Michael Hotchin. Your Blender file looks pretty good and your carves show some pretty decent detail. The wood choice isn’t great. Where in SC are you? Do you mean South Carolina? Because that’s where I am and 3d design is what I do.

You may want to check into EasyCreate from Vectric. It will create tiff files you can import into CC if that is what you are using for design software.
LearnYourCNC has a decent AI course that goes through some of the options in there.

Just using cheap material until i get the hang of it. I made the mistake of thinking i knew what i was doing and ruined 150-200 in materials

Used oak and birch before and ate thtough it
