3d engraving cleanup

What is the best way to clean up the little frayed wood grains after carving. I uses a TBN 1/64 and ran it 2x once with the grain and again at 90 degrees (both rasters). I have tried a mini media blaster and that doesn’t really work. The detail are extremely hard to sand or do by hand.

Hi Brad, nice work. I’ve done multiple versions down to 1/32

and have used both brass bristle brushes:

and diamond tipped bead reamers on a dremel for tight spaces.

As Ed said, brass brushes or plastic bristle brushes. If its small fuzzies I would lean to the soft brass brush first followed by a harder plastic brush for the final pass.

I rough them down close with a 1/4" or 1/8" ball, then soak them good in sealer and let dry overnight before the finish pass with a 1/16", or rarely a 1/32" if it’s extremely fine detail.
