What difficulty is it that you are having?
Usually folks make a 3D design, then trace the outline:
Then use the outline vector (or an offset from it).
Upload the file to a file sharing site such as Google Drive, make it public, then provide the link?
I don’t want it to cut all the way through. I want it at to be part of a 2 D design I plan on designing around it.
Then you should model a base to it.
Your 3D model is nothing but an import of an STL which does not have a base:
If for example you want an 0.125" thickness behind the design, draw that region:
and model it:
Apply
Show 3D:
Then create suitable toolpaths:

(note esp. that you should not have a 3D Finishing toolpath w/o an associated 3D Roughing toolpath)
Thank you for the videos. We are learning, getting the hang of some of the more difficult designs we are attempting. Not sure why we are not moving from easy to hard, but here we are.
