Hello,
I’m working on a project for my nephew.
I’d like to use CC Pro’s 3D feature (which I already have) to integrate a PS5 controller into a piece of oak.
I succeeded a year ago with the old version of CC, but now I’m completely lost and frustrated.
I need to reverse the white/black colors of the 3D drawing. In this case, I need the female part of the controller in the wood, not the male side like in the photo.
How can I do this?
Thanks in advance.

If you’re importing an image, you can invert it…
If you’re building it, you can subtract rather than add.

But with tjs new version of CC i can’t invert.
And you say « soustract » but … i tried 3 hours.
Nervous time !

What info are you starting with? STL, Dimensions, image heightmap??
Share what you have & we’ll figure it out.
This is the STL file I’m importing into CC.
It’s a cutout of the controller, the bottom 25mm… which must be embedded in a 29mm thick piece of oak.
The STL file is larger than 4MB, I can’t send it to you… limited to 4MB.

Upload the file to a network drive site such as Google Drive, set it to public, then send the link.

Well,
I see online that there are a lot of problems between V7 and V8…
Disappointed to have updated CC, I should have stayed with V7 because I was able to do it just fine.
Now I can’t “invert” and that’s what’s stopping me.
I just need to invert the black and white colors in 3D. Impossible, I can’t find the box.
Did my Google Drive file help you?

If you wish to use v7, it is still available at:
https://carbide3d.com/downloads
v8 should be a superset of v7 features as modified by the requirements of the new features as discussed at:
https://carbide3d.com/blog/create-v8/
As noted, only a pixel image import can be inverted — if you have a 3D model which you wish to remove from a design, subtract it instead.
Hello,
First of all, thank you all for responding so quickly and helping me.
I succeeded by reinstalling V7, first try, perfect.
I’d just like to understand how to subtract using V8 to avoid having to switch from one version to another. Now I need to understand
If you have a video or any link so I can improve in the future, I would be grateful.
Have a good weekend everyone.

You need something to subtract from.
Build a flat component the height of your stock, then import the STL and subtract it.

@Tod1d has it aright.
Given a rectangle:
Modeled to a thickness greater than the model:
Apply
Show 3D
The STL may then be subtracted from it:
