I picked up a 3d printer recently because I wanted to print some stuff off cutrocket to use with my Shapeoko. I occurred to me that one hand could wash the other, so to speak.
Most of us have made parts and accessories for our routers using our routers. And many of us have made parts and accessories for our routers using a 3D printer. But what possibilities (or completed projects) might we have to use our routers to make cool stuff for our 3D printers?
At one point in time I was considering re-purposing the left-over rails from my various SO3 upgrades to make a Delta 3D printer and making the majority of parts on the machine, but that never happened.
3D printing forces are so low, and typical part geometry complex enough that the Venn diagram of:
parts which are not strong enough for 3D printing when 3D printed
parts which are easily machined on a CNC router
is pretty minimal, but my understanding is the parts/components in it are what you are asking after.
I’d be more interested in parts for projects — did have an idea a while back for a panel w/ a central medallion where the parts were cut on the machine each as a single setup, but the central medallion was 3D printed due to its geometry — I’ll see if I can either find the files or re-create them…
Well for your first prints, you could print all the Carbide 3D Printed CNC Accesssories LINK HERE
and then you can go do a search for “shapeoko” on maker world, printables, thingiverse, etc and find things to print for you CNC like this:
