With regard to probing – I had made a couple of walking sticks as gifts to some friends, and I wanted to use the CNC to carve symbols on the curved surface. It relies on using a specific g-code sender (bCNC) that natively support grid probing, and then running your gcode applying the resulting heightmap.

The probe should be a NO type, as this is what the Shapeoko controller expects.
