You are correct in that a 3D Touch Probe and the bitsetter will not work well together without some tweaking. I think most folks that use the touch probes do so with other g-code senders. You would likely end up with macros dedicated to 3D Touch Probe operations.
If you want to get into physical modifications, you could try swapping the bitsetter spring for a lighter one or swap your touch probe spring for a heavier one. I expect neither option is “officially” recommended by either vendor 
Good luck on the journey though, the addition of a 3D Touch Probe was well worth the effort when I was using it regularly.
