4 axis CNC service needed

I have a project (x-mass gifts) that I need some 4 axis work done. Does anyone know of someone or a business that will do some work? Preferably in the Sacramento CA area but at least in the 48 US States, I don’t want to deal with international shipping. What I need done is rather simple (I do not have an SVG but can make one if needed). I want to make a wooden candle with wax dripping. So, 3/4" Dia white wood dowel (probably birch or maple). 1.25 Dia dark wood (cherry or walnut probably). Drill the dark wood, glue and insert the white wood. Now, mount this up on the 4x and carve away the dark wood until just wax drips of dark wood are left on the white wood. Center drill the whole thing .25" for running wires (I’ll add a LED to it). That’s it. pretty simple I want a bout 15 of them. Oh, the white dowel is about 6" long and the dark dowel is about 3" long. If I can’t find someone to do it, I’ll make the dowels and then hand carve it. But I’ve never carved, don’t have carving chisels and don’t really want to spend the hours it would take me. Or, if anyone has another way I could make these that’d be good too. I have a pretty much full garage woodshop (no lathe, but my neighbor has a pen lathe I can use) and a Shapeoko 5 Pro 2x4.

You can probably find someone to do it for you. That said, you may be able to do them In multiple setups. Basically carving it in halves or quarters at a time and indexing the workpieces.

While you can’t add a proper 4th axis to your controller, you can still pick up a cheap indexing head and either manually index it or use a separate little indexing controller.
For example, a little vevor is less than $200

There’s definitely some learning to do even if you’re just manually indexing but it may be worth the time, adding another skill to the toolkit :man_shrugging:
