Any of yall have any good setups for attaching a 4” dust collection hose to your S5 Pro with the 65mm vfd? I can 3d print if there are any shareable files.
I have a pwncnc spindle and use their Dust Boot v7. Along with that I have their MagLock for Makers and Ultimate Hose Clamp for Makers stl file collections available to buy on their site. With those I made my own connections to fit a 4" clear tube of polycarbonate.
The upper hose clamp would also just fit the 4" hose if you wanted to do just that.
Yep. Some old Shopvac tube and a of transition from Woodcraft.
I added a oak clamp to the spindle diameter. It leans on the top side of the spindle mount.
I use a Stealthsonic vacuum with a Mullet cyclone.
I have changed the hanger setup to two points with a lot of slack.
The hose will try to fully collapse if the Sweepy loads up or debris get caught.
Lost a couple of pieces recently not having sufficient slack. The hose transition pulled out, landed in a bad place and caused the machine to skip steps.
This also allows me to suck chips into the Mullet and not waste vacuum bags on a second vacuum that I have.
Thanks for opening my eyes to PWNCNC! Your setup looks great. From what I can tell on the V7 dust boot, the brush at the bottom is magnetic. Do you find that the setup gets in the way when changing bits?
Does not get in the way at all. the entire black part with the brushes is magnetic removable, so easy access to change bits. And the rest is quick release removable if you desire.
