I have a similar version on my lathe but it’s a star wheel you turn to engage the wheel rather than a little lever. They work fine there and are stable, but i have to get on the floor to engage them.
For my CNC I have the Rockler wheels that you kick up a lever to lower the table and step on the lever to engage it. That’s a bit easier, but a little jarring when the wheel is disengaged sometimes.
